International Day of non-violence

🤝 Today, on November 30, the world says “NO” to violence. This day reminds us of the importance of standing against all forms of violence, which can deeply harm not only physical but also mental health. Violence, whether in families, communities, or workplaces, leaves lasting psychological scars and demands the attention of all of us.

💜 At the Dnipro Institute of Medicine and Public Health, we emphasize the importance of creating a safe environment where everyone feels respected and supported. Our students study the impact of violence on mental health and learn methods to assist those affected, as early support can be crucial for recovery.

💡 How does violence affect mental health?

  1. Causes anxiety, depression, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
  2. Lowers self-esteem and trust in others.
  3. May lead to physical health issues, such as hypertension or chronic pain.

📢 How can you help?

  • Don’t stay indifferent. If you know someone suffering from violence, offer support or help them find professional assistance.
  • Education and awareness. Inform people of their rights and the resources available to them.
  • Prevention. Teach children and young adults peaceful conflict resolution skills.

💬 Together, let’s say “NO” to violence and support those in need. Let’s make the world a safer place for everyone!
